A Dinner Concert of Italian Opera
Description: Lyric soprano Annamaria Stefanelli and tenor Rory Angelicola will present a dinner concert of Italian opera on Thursday, January 29 at 6 p.m. at Ria Mar restaurant.
Accompanied by pianist Andrew Macirowski, Stefanelli and Angelicola will perform some of the best-loved Italian operatic duets and arias as well as Italian art songs and Neapolitan favorites.
Ria Mar, which features Portuguese cuisine, conceived of the concert as a way to showcase both Portuguese and Italian cultures. The program format will be that of the Portuguese art form fado, in which the various courses of a meal alternate with periods of entertainment.
Diners will enjoy a four course meal, beginning with an appetizer plate and continuing with a choice of soup and salad; an entree of steak, chicken, veal, pork, shrimp, or fish; and a choice of dessert. The singers will perform 20-minutes sets between each course.
Tickets are $30 for dinner plus a $10 cover charge; a cash bar will also be available.
